N is for New(ish) Nephew

Happy almost-first Birthday little one! This was you not that long ago, so small and new. How quickly children grow. In honor of the occasion, this is my first 'guest photo' - courtesy of my brother (the little one's papa). More at ABC Wednesday.

{Thank you also for your kind words yesterday. My sister, a Boston surgeon, shared an article on her colleagues -- despite everything, it's nice reading about people who always want to save, not destroy, lives.}

Very cute! Interesting and enlightening article too, it's good to hear facts about what actually happens in the aftermath of these terrible events. All too often the people involved with trying to save peoples lives, and limbs, are forgotten.

Such a poignant image after the tragedy in Boston, new life. The NYT article was also moving, it is uplifting how war zone experience is put use. Thankyou.

What a gorgeous hopeful loving photo Lulu! I love the black background, the curious little foot, the supportive tired hands (especially the one fading into the dark), the textures... so so wonderful!

Such a sweet photo - Happy Birthday One Year Old!!

I just finished reading the article. Amazing how something so awful can leave you with hope, as there is so much good out there in the world. What a wonderful group of people Boston has.
