Morning stroll

After days of rain, sunlight felt thrilling! Also, apologies for the top of the tree being cut off, it was the best I could do as my arms kept being tugged by a wiggly dog (below - her name is Kona, a 6-year-old English Springer Spaniel we recently adopted from a rescue group...she's been wiggling ever since:).

Sigh...this year, it went by too quickly.

Two towns, one color family

I'm still between London and Princeton time, so here's a bright 'duet' from both places: classic letterbox in London ("VR" = Victoria Regina, it was placed during Queen Victoria's reign), and classic locker from a Princeton high school (Mr. L, resident Brit, exclaimed: "I've never seen American school lockers up close.").

A little cheat II: Roman ruins, London

Argh, the forecast said sun, but yesterday was mostly drenched. So here's another peek at London and Roman ruins under Guidhall Art Gallery. London's major Roman amphitheatre was lost for centuries, until these ruins were found in 1988. (After gladiatorial games, the dead were thrown in the Thames.)

A little cheat: Knole House, Kent UK

Six days of downpours (and unusual work deadlines) foiled my plans for fresh, new Princeton snaps. So I'll cheat and offer my final UK weekend instead, at the 1400s Knole House - where Medusa greets visitors and portraits' eyes follow you.
