Slumming it

One of the "slums," as some Princeton University student dormitories are called. These dormitories are old and among the last choices in the student housing draw.

Not exactly my idea of a slum!

I should be so lucky, to live in a slum such as this!

Really, gosh I'm a real sucker for an arch, but I guess it's what lies behind hey Lulu.

cieldequimper - kinda crazy, isn't it?! The names students will think of these days :)

Adele - I know! I wonder how the name first started being used...it's just campus-speak now.

PerthDailyPhoto - I'm also a sucker for an arch! I realize there are tons of them around, but I haven't shown too many. Might as well start with the 'slums' :)

Ah, but the entrance way is so grand! I guess feeling like royalty isn't good enough? :))

Terrific photograph (of a slum :). It looks pretty English to me and I expect that after the Olympics and all those great shots of London no doubt seen on TV...it will become a more popular place. Well, maybe.

(I have just been chasing around the various threads of 'blog talk' we have going....you came to mind today when I was telling my husband about our conversation re cameras. You get great results with the camera you are using (and I should have said that earlier !!!!)

EG CameraGirl - haha, nope, not for these Princeton slummers ;)

LOLfromPasa - I think the "London effect" could be a big one! Princeton Uni alumni did rather well at these Olympics :) And thank you for the kind words re: cameras/photos - though you've still convinced me to give that old Lumix a whirl!

Thats the kind of slumming it that I would be happy to do. It does look quite English but the stonework in the walls rather gives it away. Having spent my childhood in an Oxford college I know my older buildings.

Oh, they look so quaint. But I wouldn't like to live in a "slum" either!
