You might have lost in the staring contest but you walked away with a nice photo! I know from experience that cats are expert starers when they want to be. :-)
He does rather look like a bruiser. Years back we had a neighbour with a bad tempered cat that used to come through the the cat flap and terrify my two placid nice nature kitties. They would hide under the spare bed till I chased him out.
"Are you looking at ME?" Yes. "Are you feeling LUCKY, punk?" Err, no - not at all. Byee. ---------------- That superb face says it all. No messing about. Great.
