Rhododendrons and azaleas

They're past their peak, but better late (to post) than never! Apparently, rhododendrons have 10 or more stamens; azaleas have 5 or so. (Thanks for kind comments re: Mr. L's photo yesterday - hope it'll spur him to contribute more:)

Ahhhh! They are in full bloom here too, but I haven't seen a yellow one in a long, long time!

Glad you enjoyed the dip! :-)

Our azaleas bloom in February , but rododendrons don't grow here. These are lovely photos and I just love that yellow bloom.

I must admit with some varieties of azaleas and roddies I find it hard to tell which is which:) the first thing that I thought of when I saw the pink was...wait for it...coconut ice, do you see, it or is it just my 'sweet tooth' talking haha!

I wish you a wonderful day.

Very beautiful. We have several Rhodys and they bloom at different times. So colorful. MB

Such pretty Spring colors! I have a confession to make about rhododendrons though,... we had a ton of them in our garden growing up, and all I can remember is ALWAYS having to clean up after them. Guess my adoration of flowers didn't show up until my later years :)

Gorgeous flowers, Lulu. I can confirm that they aren't easy to photograph. You have done a fine job. (Google Picasa/Google+ and see what you think.)

Lulu, these are such beautiful flowers. Fresh, airy and so tender and glorious at the same time. If you would not say that these flowers pass their pick I would not noticed it. I love them so much, I even want to touch gently the first flower.

Wonderful, Lulu:))))))

Hope you were able to avoid the worst of yesterday's storms. Heard there was a little excitement over at the university today.

Gorgeous flowers. I didn't know about the ten stamens, but that could explain their fullness!

Thank you! PerthDailyPhoto - as soon as you mentioned I saw it too! Revrunner - thanks for mentioning the bomb scare, it is all clear now thankfully but a bit of drama!

We probably have the yellow ones somewhere in my part of the world. But the white and pink ones- I only see in blogs. Glad I do. Thanks for sharing.

I've never seen rhododendrons or azaleas in person. Someday, I hope. They're beautiful!
