Postcards from Paris: When it sizzled

A heatwave was raging when I snapped these. Iconic bookstore (the original was founded between the wars by Sylvia Beach, whose Princeton grave is here) and water fountain...

{Too hot to THINK!}

{That's better!}

Beautiful shots!

That's a book store I could thoroughly enjoy myself in.

I would love to visit this book store. Just to wonder and look around. Not sure I could find there a book in English. Love the fountain. It's very beautiful! And the last picture is so compelling. I can't take my eyes from it. Great moments from Paris!!!!

That bookstore would be a delight to visit.
And what a wonderful way to cool off :)

Four fine postcards. If you were back in the old USA in July, you would have given your sweat glands a workout, too. July was VERY hot in the northeast.

That bookstore would be my first stop if I ever visit Paris. We had a store in Phoenix with the same name. I loved it.

Classic shots, Lulu. That heatwave stretched over some distance far and wide. I enjoyed it here while it lasted :). Loving your postcards!

Lovely bookstore.
And your "too hot.." and "water spray" are a good pair.

The book shop brings back memories, spent many a franc/euro in there over the years. Wonderful place!

Love your postcards! The water fountains are one of my favorite icons of Paris. Looks like you were able to take in a lot of the city despite the heat, bravo :)

I have a photo very similar to the one of the book store. (Different shoppers of course.) It's a great place to spend a morning. Your photos bring back very nice memories.

Fantastic shots. I remember visiting Shakespeare's when Aimee and I were in Paris. Your images are making me feel restless Lulu, I will have to conquer my ever growing fear of flying and get back there soon :)
