The Little Vintner of Colmar

"Replica of a work of Auguste Bartholdi. The city of Colmar France. Birthplace of the Creator of the Statue of Liberty. To her sister city the borough of Princeton." Iridescent in the bright lunchtime sun, the plaque for a (thirsty) replica statue at our borough hall. Princeton High School hosts a regular student exchange program with Colmar students. Enjoy your weekend!

Love the top shot, it's eerie!

Lucky Princeton to be twinned with one of France's prettiest cities!

You have achieved a wonderful effect. Never heard of Colmar till last week, reading about the Alsace Wine Route for my next trip.

Very nice. I agree with Ciel it that first one is a little eerie.

Curiously, I was in Colmar 10 days ago during a road trip through Alsace and the Black Forest. A very nice city.

I love the history/culture lesson today Lulu!... I didn't realize Bartholdi also created the beautiful fountain in the Botanical Garden in Washington, D.C. Love that the sister cities host a student exchange program, so wonderful for them! Enjoy your weekend :)

Well, well Lulu, I've learnt something today..surely I can't be the only one who didn't realise it was a French sculptor who designed the Statue of Liberty!! Tres interesting post.

Sometimes I think that I don't know much. Today I learned about another side of Princeton and its twin city in France, about student exchange between cities.

Lulu, the pictures are so great! The post is so interesting! Wonderful!

I like the idea that the two sister cities exchange students. Very cool. And I LOVE the statue.

It is fabulous!

Lulu, did they place it at the high school because Princeton high school students get high on wine instead of the beer that is the staple forbidden beverage of high school students elsewhere?

I believe St. Louis' sister city is Lyon, France....
