Fun sights: Meerschaums at 127-year-old tobacco shop, Leavitt & Peirce. Below (clockwise from top left), sign for the most expensive sandwich in Harvard Square - $100 caviar "Catherine the Great" (sold here), mini ice rink, thoughtful public bike repair stand, free street corner 'library', and a lovely independent used bookseller (dying breed).

That is too much for a sandwich!
Seeing those pipes reminds me of my grandfather's pipes.
The caviar had better be good! I think I'll spend an hour or two in the bookshop.
I like pipes. They have style!
A fine looking collection of things to see and eat... must remember to bring along a credit card to pay for the sandwich though ;-)
It's not what Catherine ate that made her great, it was the people she ate with. :-)
What beautiful pipes! I wonder how often the Catherine sandwich is sold... and to whom ;) Swooning over the little used bookstore!
I can't imagine dropping that much on a sandwich (that's almost a week of groceries for us) but I bet it tastes good.
Such fun finds! But wow at that sandwich!
i bet that tobacco shop smelled wonderful! so did you eat the sandwich? ;)
That tobacco store looks like it was transported whole from London. I so enjoy a good used book store.
How adorable are the pipes in their little pipe cases :) I've never smoked but somehow I find these so appealing! I may have to stick to a $7 toastie from Toastface Grillah Lulu :) Meet you in the used book store, might find something by Gloria Stein :)
Pipes are classy...but for some reason, pipe smoke always makes me queasy!
All good things but $100 sandwich?!
Cambridge looks like a fun place to discover. However a $100 sandwich is not for me. :-)
Nice shots.
Now that must be one amazing sandwich!!!
Love these shots, Jude.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I'll pass on the sandwich, thank you. Too salty. ;) (Not to mention a tad expensive.)
The collage looks great, agree about independent booksellers. We have one here that has the NYT and divine coffee. When it closes I am moving out.
Looks like fun. Thanks for sharing the pics.
Very interesting pictures!
I like used book stores!:)
