P-rade

Watching Princeton's annual alumni parade ("P-rade"), which drew 40,000 "tigers" back for Reunions. Below, a few mad scenes. (Last year's madness.)

Collage shots by Mr. L (I'm so impressed by that Class of '42 guy marching! It was 91F/33C!)

M for Movie Madness

Madness (noun): quality of being insane; great folly. Outdoor movies on a cold night? Madness. But many attended! (Guess the movie?) More at ABC Wednesday (posting early to avoid midnight Linky fumbling:).
***
P.S. More M movie madness: Fritz Lang's classic M is one of the shortest movie titles ever, and James Bond boss, M, has been played by many film actors (recently, her and him).

Tigers at play

From a Baroque oratorio yesterday to...a nail-biting Princeton Tigers-versus-Harvard basketball game (Princeton won but it was close). Hard to imagine a more brightly-dressed band (or fans:).

Put on your game face

One more peek at the Oyster Bowl slurp fest for breast cancer (posted yesterday), those intense game faces! The champion was the guy in white baseball cap in second photo, 93 oysters in 2 minutes.

Oyster feast

Bon appétit! Instead of Sunday's big Super Bowl football game, I watched the Oyster Bowl, Princeton's annual oyster eating contest to benefit breast cancer. There was much cheering and much, much more slurping.

Craft market

The Princeton YWCA held its annual Crafters' Marketplace the previous weekend to raise funds. These recycled bottles made colorful lanterns.

Turkey Trot

An emergency crew member (and festive running shorts, below) at last Thursday's Turkey Trot 5K Race for charity. I was there to cheer on a racing friend.

Bonfire time

{Pre-bonfire}

{Post-bonfire, next day}
Princeton lit a bonfire Saturday to mark football wins over Harvard and Yale. I couldn't stay, but from the charred 1700s cannon buried here (left by the British, its top is visible in 2nd photo), it was a big blaze!

Instagramming

Friday night (with dead camera battery, alas) among Princeton students at Rockefeller College's dining hall...

Plus a student Bach concert in "Rocky's" Common Hall  (the "pen ceremony" scene from A Beautiful Mind was filmed here). It's nice to occasionally attend/support student events.

The pranksters have been busy

There was a Princeton versus Yale football game this weekend. Blue is Yale's color and everyone woke to a Yale-blue Scudder Plaza pool for game day. (I've shown those Ai Weiwei zodiac statues before.)
