Facade - word origin: French façade, after Italian facciata for face. Literal face on the plastic facade of Otafuku eatery, reflecting building facades across the street. Once again, I returned to Princeton too late for photos, so hope you don't this prior weekend's glimpse of our metropolitan area!

Little notes: Otafuku specializes in two types of Japanese "street food": takoyaki (spherical octopus fritters dotted with ginger and green onions, made in a cast-iron mold - see below) and okonomiyaki (eggy pancakes with cabbage and seafood or meat).

Literal, sure, but so cute!
I love takoyaki - perfect as a quick snack. I've never had okonomiyaki, though. No ramen? :)
Sounds lovely. You are far more literal than I was but I did contemplate posting a face too... This one is sweet and... well fed! :-)
The face painted on the window advertises takoyaki very well (the rounded cheeks) ;-).
Thank you for stopping by at Polonica: Home Again.
love the reflections here
A façade with reflections ... perfect for our Theme Day.
Me gusta la foto que esta muy bien compuesta, los reflejos del cristal, el logotipo, las grafías, el rojo intenso de la carpintería, en definitiva me parece una buena foto.
Un saludo, Ángel
Love the interpretation, looks yum. Actually staying in Kailua for 5 days at a vrbo. You are spot on, this is one great beach and town, spent this arvo at Lanakai, cocktail and beers at Buzz's afterwards -
heaven! The vibe of Hawaii is so special. Mahalo.
You put your 'thinking cap' on and came up with a super post, Lulu. Love it all, but might pass on takoyaki :).
Thanks for taking us along!

Glancing at your photo, without reading the text, gave me the impression you were inside somewhere looking out during a very heavy downpour of rain! Food looks delicious!
I like the facade but I will skip the food!
You checked all the boxes with this one.
Good face and facade.
Haha this is the cutest facade I've seen so far in this theme :)
Lulu, this is a real enjoyment for all us!!!
The first picture is just splendid!!! It has so many amazing details. I love the reflection of buildings. They are like paintings. And this cute face of a smiley someone ( looks like a babushka) is so great!
And fritters are simply delicious, I think.
Love the photos but I'll pass on the food. I make it a rule to never eat anything that could eat me....
love it lulu!!
Super fun facade for the theme Lulu, ditto what Aimee said :)pass on the octopus thingies, those slippery little suckers freak me out haha!
those sound delicious, thanks for the definitions!
The takoyaki look delicious
Thank you, everyone!!
Nice shot Lulu!... I like how clearly you can see the reflections of the facades as well the folks in the interior. Cute storefront drawing (why are Japanese designs always so!)... would love to try the okonomiyaki, sounds delicious :)
Octopus fritters now that's just gross.
Very nice interpretation of the theme. You covered multiple bases. Well done!
Well, the color, composition and textures of this façade are winners. What a very creative post and photo for the Theme Day!
