Moving back in time, I alighted here briefly before Paris. During Elizabeth I's reign, this 1400s
moated manor harbored Catholic priests (see
priest hole in 2nd photo), when it was treason to do so. Enjoy your weekend!

P.S. Fans of the
Sherlock Holmes TV series starring
Jeremy Brett (a Warwickshire lad) may recognize Baddesley Clinton as the locale for a gothic, entertaining episode, "The Musgrave Ritual." :)

I could be quite happy there.
Oh, sure, it would be roughing it, but we all have to make sacrifices, right?
I'm just about halfway through SH's collected works.
Lulu, this is a wonderful place. I wish I see it even for a few hours. You took a fantastic picture of this place. Refections are magical!
I wish you a nice weekend and peaceful!
Love that reflection.
You have just brought back a ton of childhood memories of playing inside pre-Elizabethan and Elizabethan castles, manors, gardens! And it's a brilliant reflection too!
Oh Lulu, you were close to my part of the world. And you are showing me a spot I can actually go and visit. Fantastic!!! Enjoying your postcards :).
I love your reflections.
Wish you a happy weekend, too.
Me again.. the video is great. I'm the fan of Sherlock Holmes.
Very Olde England, great shots. Have a fun w/e!
Wow! This reflection is just perfect.
Such amazing history preserved in this building. The photo is gorgeous--beautiful reflections.
Wonderful reflections in the first shot Lulu, love the stories of bolt holes and secret tunnels..takes me back to my reading Secret Seven and Famous Five books :)
It would indeed make a pretty postcard.
Excelente reflexo....
Cumprimentos
Always fascinated by these tidbits of history... though there's way too much strife in it all. Love the stark reflection of the manor. Enjoy your weekend Lulu!
What a lovely gift, a beaut photo and a SH episode. Priest hole, fascinating.
That's so beautiful...like stepping through a portal back in time....
What a beautiful place, Jude!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
This is a great place and a terrific reflection. You did get around on this trip, didn't you?
What a beautiful place. Plus I'm a big Jeremy Brett fan, so I enjoyed this post, enjoyed seeing him in the setting. Amazing that this same actor was Freddie in the Rex Harrison/Audrey Hepburn version of "My Fair Lady."
I've just watched the entire episode, and I see the very door in your photo!
Wow, so cool! I wish moats were still fashionable.
And what a gorgeous postcard it is. So England!
Relajante imagen, buena foto.
Un saludo, Ángel
That first photo is incredible, I love the reflections!
It's a postcard indeed. Love the reflection in the water. Almost crystal clear.
