Swirled tree

I always liked the slightly swirled bark on this tree, reminds me of marbled cake! With new snowfall like cake frosting. (Winter weather makes me hungrier than usual.)

Snow white

Just after a wiggly dog pulled my arm off center, and before the camera froze, a moment of fresh snow. Enjoy your weekend!

Ice blossoms

Almost like fresh "spring blooms" bursting forth. Just pretend that blue sky is warm, not -10C/12F!

The ice storm

Yet another storm swept through yesterday, leaving beauty and destruction. Many are still without power.

Stormy weather

Start of yesterday's winter storm. My camera refused to work after 10 minutes - too cold! (And today's morning forecast is -15C, lovely.)

Happy Holidays!

The casually (crazily) decorated tree in our town square. I'm taking a break for the holidays - enjoy yours! Happy 2014!

Below, to make up for my holiday hiatus, a glance back at 2013...
Spring springing...

A mostly-London summer...

...(with a touch of Paris)...

...(and Norway)...

Autumn gold...

Let it snow!

The first dusting

Like icing on a cake. (I feel I've shown this street before, but cannot find the post now.) I'm taking a short break for work travel. Be well, see you soon!

Recent weeks VII: Color

It was T-shirt weather yesterday, go figure! So I'll move back in time too, with glimpses of our November color and last November rose.

Recent weeks VI: Saying goodbye to autumn

Princeton University's "front lawn" and historic Nassau Hall. Autumn leaves were already fading in this November shot, but I love the season so and can't resist the colors.

Recent weeks: Golden days

Well, that small break turned into a too-long month! The best-laid plans... Thanks to all who dropped a note. I had a month of unexpected long workdays and work weekends, but it was also a time of golden days.

Leafy carpet

An uneven season: Many trees are green, but others have already lost their golden leaves. I'll be taking a small break - be well, see you soon!

Sunny moment

Entering the 500-acre woods. The marker points to two 1700s homes, one on the left and one on right, used as Revolutionary War infirmaries. Behind me, a path into the woods where a horse had trod (second photo) - hope the horse enjoyed the woods too!

Avenue of plane trees

Like dignified old soldiers lining Battle Road (after a battlefield 1 mile away), under Saturday's light snow.

Waiting for spring

This tree is much more patient than I, and more good looking too. (Alas, I do not know what kind it is.) Happy Monday!
