Cold, crisp morning

Two seasons in one: budding plants (I think) amidst the morning frost yesterday. Nature's gone doolally here!

Strange days indeed, most peculiar ... wondering how you got that frost shot. Looks like you were lying down in a snipers pose.

How fascinating Lulu. The weather world wide seems to be behaving a tad weirdly theses days. We have had storms, huge wind and less and 20C, but I believe in just three days it's going to be 37C, go figure! I love the frosty icicles on the greenery and the yellow is almost spring like oui?? Hope you have a super weekend.

Oh yes, that looks pretty cold. We had the first frost this morning too.

I love the contrast here. It has been pretty cold here the last few days.

I've always liked frost!

Here we've had snow on the ground for about a week now, and the canal near my place is frozen over (not safe to walk on, of course, but the ice is establishing itself nicely...)

Well, there is definite agreement from your UK followers about the frost here. Don't mind it when skies are blue. BTW, both shots really clear and crisps. Which camera are you using these days?

I would love to be able to get a close to the ground as you did in the frosty shot. My next camera will have one of those screens that will move in any direction to view.

a.s.m. - thanks so much! I think it helped I was temporarily using a newer camera for these shots yesterday morning, it was the camera more than anything:)

Peter - haha, wish I were nimble enough to drop into snipers pose for my photos! Alas, I did the less dramatic thing of kneeling far down, and putting the camera as close to the grass as possible:)

PerthDailyPhoto - your weather is sounding oddly like ours! (Even if we're in opposite seasons:) It's strange indeed - here's too your having a storm-free weekend and truly summery weekend!

Tanya - can you believe winter is upon us?:)

Angelikas - the season went by so quick, I imagine it felt that way in London too!:)

Paul B - I hear it may be a harsh winter, sigh. It sounds like the UK is saying goodbye to autumn too:)

William - there can be magic in winters! I loved your Rideau Canal when fully frozen - ice skating on the bumps/ripples and in the great outdoors is a wonderful experience:)

LOLfromPasa - thanks! I hope it doesn't get too frozen too soon there! Autumn went by so quickly... (For these 2 shots, I helped myself to Mr. L's Panasonic Lumix! He wasn't using it:) I think it's a DMC or DMZ something, I'll find the info. It's still a point-and-shoot, like my usual Canon, but bulkier with bigger lens and I think that helps! It's also a newer model camera than mine, so perhaps it also gets fresher images.)

Forsythia in autumn is strange, that's for sure. :)

Thanks, Lulu. I am interested (and I saw your comments on my blog and here. You are kind of like me...replying in both places.) You really do have very clear shots here.

So clear, for sure! Really beautiful photos, Lulu! My Canon something-or-other, recently purchased, has a Macro lens, but I am hesitant to use it. I wonder if I could try something like this with it? If only I knew what I was doing, life would be simpler! :)

Andy - that would be a great upgrade for me also, I wish it were a standard feature (I couldn't see my screen in the frosty shot, and crossed my fingers:)

EG CameraGirl - it's very odd indeed, and thank you for identifying the forsythia! I learn so much from other bloggers:))

LOLfromPasa - very funny, I haven't thought of it, but I tend to do that:) I found out the camera is a Lumix DMC FZ47. I really should use it more: it takes crisper photos, has a better zoom & more manual control than my tiny Canon. But the cons are that it's bulkier and, photographically speaking, essentially a point-and-shoot in that it has a small sensor (hence noisy images in low light).

Adele - oh I bet you'd take such cool photos with your new one! I mentioned right above for LOLfromPasa the camera model, and its pros/cons. It's like a glorified point-and-shoot camera:)

I love the color in that first shot!

Neither the buds nor the frost look like they'lll be around long.

Thanks, Lulu. Something to be said for Panasonic. Thanks for following up on my query :).

Very nice shots!
Love the frosty grass!
We had snow yesterday!
But the forsythia isn't blooming. Normally it will bloom in March.
