Last week's Duke Farmsposts got me thinking of another Doris Duke estate: Shangri La, Honolulu. Made me nostalgic for my hometown:) Enjoy your weekend.
{Diamond Head volcano in back. Both photos Autumn 2012}
Thank you for your sweet comment about my Mom on ABC Wed. She was released from the hospital yesterday. Your ocean view makes me long for the beach. Ann
How wonderful Lulu, love the second shot with all the colourful bougainvillea, you must have the best memories of this trip. Hope you have a happy weekend.
Ohh my Lulu, your hometown is simply beautiful! I dream of waking up to that view of the ocean (sigh)... of course you're nostalgic dear friend, we can all see why :) Gorgeous photos! Bon week-end!!
How beautiful is that. I can fully understand how you feel from time to time. Wonderful that you can make that occasional trip home to take wonderful photos like these.
My wife and I did the climb up Diamond Head a lifetime ago. Thx for bringing back the memory with your photo. I remember there was an entrepreneurial guy at the top with a tub of Cokes on ice at the top. A mighty effort as he would have had to lug them all up there on his back. I wonder if there is a road these days.

What a beautiful place! The top photo reminded me of my hometown. It's the same ocean but I come from about 2,500 miles East. :-)
What a fantastic house! Simply gorgeous!

Una fotos muy placenteras y relajantes. Un privilegio el poder estar por ese lugar.
Un saludo, Ángel

These places are so gorgeous!!! I have never been in Honolulu and I didn't see an ocean for a long time.

Quite a beautiful place!
Calling Hawaii paradise is definitely no exaggeration!
Nice but not my cup of tea. I guess I am just a desert rat at heart.
I have never visited Hawaii but I'm 'addicted' to the tropics, that's why I (almost) always travel south! :-) What a great setting on the bottom pic.
So pretty! I've never been there; thanks for sharing.
I can understand your nostalgia. Spectacular view.
Wow! just gorgeous.
Thanks! You've got me dreamin'.
What a hometown that must be! Lovely.
Paradise!
