I found out this popular magnolia was cultivated in 1820 by a former officer of Napoleon's army (he finally made flowers, not war). Hope you have a relaxing weekend.
Oh, Lulu, your flowers from yesterday and today are beautiful. You do a great close up. I did see some peach trees here in bud yesterday. At last. You have a chilled weekend. It has been a tough week.
Oh my gosh Lulu, this is a gorgeous image, just look at all those buds full of promise in the background, can you imagine what this bush will look like when they all open like this beauty in front..
That's really interesting, I didn't know that! Wonderful photo, Jude, such a great color! There is a magnolia bush in my neighbourhood and I do hope to manage a few photos before they turn brown again with the rain and cold temperatures! Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend, too!
Jude, this is GORGEOUS!! Just this morning, I noticed that my neighbor's magnolia is just barely beginning to bloom. I will surely be there when it does!
Magnolias in New Jersey in April? That seems early to me. I have a magnolia in my yard in Connecticut and I don't think it will bloom before I return in mid-May.
One of my favourite sayings (SO not-Australian!) that I borrowed from 'Gone With the Wind' is 'It's not all Moonlight and Magnolias'!! These are FAAAAAABULOUS!!!

Remarkable, both the beauty and the lineage.

Gorgeous shot! Magnolias have long lost their blooms and are full of new leaves here.

My folks had a rare magnolia tree in the front yard with nice blooms but this color and photo are amazing!
Nice to see Spring springing up in your area! Well, the former officer had the right idea.
Thanks for showing signs of SPRING.
Beautiful.
