Through the looking glass at Harvard's Science Center. Just a few blocks beyond are (below) the blue plaques of Irving Street, marking the home of psychologist William James (#95) and birthplace of poet e e cummings (across the street). A few doors over is the grey home of American culinary icon Julia Child, who lived and worked for 40 years at #103, broadcasting her shows from its kitchen (now housed at a Smithsonian Museum). Enjoy your weekend!

I am enjoying your virtual tour, immensely so!
William James is one of my heroes, and I have never seen a picture of the e.e.cummings place. Julia's home, instead, looks very familiar. What a woman she was, what a couple, she and her husband.
You are a fun traveling companion!

The reflection makes it look like a prison tier!
Love all the plaques and how they are remembered!
Interesante pequeño recorrido por Cambridge, esta bien.

-Buen fin de semana.
Oh wow - lots of history there!
oh you are having a great time!
Both houses look lovely, and I do like the effect of that glass.
The library in a previous post was amazingly huge. We have never toured Harvard during visits to MA and should do so on a future trip. It's been fun seeing the varied sights in your posts, Lulu. It appears there is still much snow there as well; none here.
Julia had a beautiful house to call home. These days we see Ina Garten and Giada De Laurentlis taping their cooking shows from their very own kitchens on opposite ends of the country.
I guess Julia Child was the first of the 'in their own kitchen' TV cooks, gosh how many are there now! Have you seen Julie and Julia, with Meryl Streep playing Julia, fab movie! Have a good weekend Lulu!
I love the looking glass effect!
The blue plaques are a great idea, thanks for the stroll through the neighbourhood!
I like the idea of those blue plaques!
I read with great interesting about Julia Child and William James. The pictures are fantastic, Lulu!
I wish you a nice weekend!!!
Nice tour!
Is Savenor's still there? I used to see Julia and her husband buying meat there. It was very close to Irving Street. I lived several blocks further out, in a rickety three-decker in Somerville.
I love seeing these photos from Cambridge...my old stomping ground many years ago. ;)
'Through the looking glass' is a very cool shot!
Also like the fish eye effect (we bloggers search for different angles). Must visit Cambridge.
This made me smile. The invitation my husband and I designed for our wedding began with a verse from e.e.cummings.
Always admired Julia Child. Fun to see her home. Top shot kept my attention for quite some time :). Love the image. Great tour!
Fun post! Love the first image!!!
Jack - yes, Savenor's is still there! Though slightly further down the street from it's former location.
