Harvard Yard: Walk through yesterday's photo and say hello to 'the mothership' of Harvard's enormous library system,
named after a student who died on the Titanic. There's a Gutenberg Bible in there + 57 miles of bookshelves
so labyrinthine you could put a minotaur in the middle and no one would notice.

A magnificent library building!
You would have to sacrifice a few freshmen. Minotaurs have big appetites.
I must go there. With a minotaur shield, of course.
I think I would have to borrow some thread from Ariadne. Would love to visit Harvard, it is nice to get a glimpse.
Big place that would be fun to get lost in. I suppose there is a real risk you could get lost :).
Trees there are the same as ours here, I see.

So stately and beautiful! 57+ miles of bookshelves is a reader's haven for sure. I suppose if there's one library to hide out in, this would be the one (minus the minotaur ;)

From the look of that yard, I'd say the sun-god would have felt more comfortable in the library.

I did not know there was another Gutenberg bible in the USA, besides the one at the Library of Congress.
Now that is one big library.
I think Harry would have been very pleased with this memorial Lulu. Was thinking how generous his mum was donating $3.5 million until I read the library had $97 million worth of renovation since then.. but still I guess back then that would have been worth so much more.

A college classmate of mine is a senior librarian at the Widener. In the years soon after graduation she married a grad student in chemistry at MIT. About five years ago he won a Nobel Prize. You never expect that stuff when you are just a snot-nosed college kid.
That's an impressive looking library.
