Morning near the woods

A giant fungi under a hornet's nest. I tried to keep my distance, but was captivated by the wavy patterns.

I love fungi and have a book on them, though that is of the fungi here in the British Isles.

a.s.m. - thank you! The woods are amazing places, aren't they? :)

Paul - I'd love a book just like that for the Northeast US. These may be common oyster mushrooms, I think (that's why I need the book).

Jim - thank you, and thanks for dropping by!

William - very true, they're fascinating in their myriad and unusual variety:)

Chrissy - thank you! I'm lucky to be near woods, though it looks like you've also lovely areas near you:)

LOLfromPasa - haha, yes a bit more 'mushroom-y' than usual :) I didn't use a flash (haven't figured out how to make my flash photos look less harsh and overlit), but got lucky with a bit of sun peeking through the leaves. Hope to take more woodsy shots now the weather's cooler.

Mildred - thank you! Love seeing these.

Stefan - thank you! I wish I knew what it was:)

cieldequimper - welcome back & hope you had a nice break! Haha, that's a great attitude, hornets were a bonus:) Nature can be marvelous, can't ever say it enough:)

Randy - they're amazing things, hope your midterm went well!

Magia - thank you! And thank you for dropping by!
