The play's the thing

McCarter Theatre, our Tony-award winning theater, about a month ago on a warm day. The left photo is from this weekend - Sigourney Weaver and David Hyde Pierce were appearing in "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike," which ran an extra week. I got last-minute tickets (30 seconds before curtain) and enjoyed the fun. The play moves to New York next.

30 seconds before curtain? Wow! And you got to see the play BEFORE it moves to NY. And in a lovely building... Perfect!

I am a fan of Sigourney Weaver and have only ever seen her on film so I would have loved to have seen her at the McCarter.

How neat for you! I am fan of both. This theatre certainly has a familiar English look to it. Lovely!

Your were very luck to catch the play with with well known stars in it. I hope you didn't have to pay scalpers prices for your tickets.

Lucky you to manage to get the tickets just in time to see the play!

cieldequimper - haha, yes *literally* last-(half) minute - I'm surprised they let me in! We luck out with the pre-Broadway/NY shows sometimes:)

a.s.m. - thank you! The McCarter events tend to generate some excitement and buzz.

Paul - I did enjoy seeing her and the whole cast live. Weaver's role was more comedic and she was quite flighty & air-headed - so different from her serious/intense roles in film!

LOLfromPasa - thanks! I like them both too and hadn't realized they'd both done quite a bit of theater! (Although NY is not far, it's nice having a theatre nearby:)

Andy - very lucky indeed, and thankfully no scalpers! We may have too small a theater for scalpers to bother:)

Mildred - thank you! It was a lucky break, I'm glad they let me in!

Mo - super fun!:)

Tanya - I lucked out, the theater is 80+ years old (James Stewart acted on its stage back then), which I guess is not too old:)

Chrissy - thanks! Love the atmosphere here at any event.

EG - thank you! It's nice having something this close:)

If I'm not mistaken Lulu, Sigourney Weaver is Australian oui? What a beautiful theatre you have there.
