Weekend explorations: Midtown Manhattan

During a rare lull (usually, there's triple the crowds and cars). I returned to Princeton after dark, so hope you don't mind this glimpse of our metropolitan area!

A classic, Lulu. Very nice.

New York must have the busiest pedestrian crossings I have ever experienced.

Una buena foto, muy buena toma de la perspectiva de los edificios con un buen movimiento de peatones y coches. Enhorabuena.

too busy for me with all those tall buildings

Fantastic, just like a scene from a movie. I'm almost expecting King Kong to appear between the buildings in the distance!

Excellent street scene photo. You know you are in New York when you see a street full of yellow cabs.

HHHMMMmmm... so it's not so difficult to hail a cab after all!!! Or are those hordes of yellow cabs just there for display?!?!

Love the energy + the quintessential NYC cabs in this shot Lulu! Must have been nice to have had blue skies while in the city :)

Great background for this pedestrian crossing. Well, it's just Manhattan! :-)

Manhattan must have the busiest crosswalks in the US. I love your shot looking down the street.

Thanks so much everyone - I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing all your takes on the theme today too!

Lulu, you went to New York!!! And you were in the midtown Manhattan! If I could I would go right now!

Love, love so much this picture. City life is in action. Everybody is busy.

Great, so great and very inviting photograph!

You got it all in one frame ! The skyscraper canyon, the flags, the taxis, the ads, the crosswalk, even a blue sky...perfection !

A pretty blue sky above yellow cabs and busy legs.

I like the way the buildings in the distance loom over the pedestrians. We really are all ants. Busy ones, but ants nonetheless.

Bustling New York City. I've never been there so I am always happy to see scenes from that place. Love the accumulation of yellow cabs in this photo.
Thank you for stopping by at Polonica: Home Again.

Great shot! Wonder if you were standing in the median to take it?

LONDONLULU said...

Jesh - yes, I stood on the equivalent, the middle of a 3-way intersection (not the wisest thing to do in midtown:)

What a contrast between the people and all those taxis! What a great interpretation of the theme!
