City Daily Photo Theme Day: St. George's Day
Kenilworth Castle celebrations, England, April 2012. Trying a collage to capture St. George's Day. For local flavor, below is a Princeton dormitory's St. George, by A. Sterling Calder (father of Alexander). More theme entries here!

On a personal note, with regard to English connections, the name "LondonLulu" was a little tribute to our pre-Princeton roots in London, England and Honolulu, Hawaii.Monday, April 22, 2013
Bird on forsythia branch
Another welcome sign of Spring: the birds are back, carrying nesting materials or singing among the blooms.

Spring springing!
I found out this popular magnolia was cultivated in 1820 by a former officer of Napoleon's army (he finally made flowers, not war). Hope you have a relaxing weekend.

N is for New(ish) Nephew
Happy almost-first Birthday little one! This was you not that long ago, so small and new. How quickly children grow. In honor of the occasion, this is my first 'guest photo' - courtesy of my brother (the little one's papa). More at ABC Wednesday.

{Thank you also for your kind words yesterday. My sister, a Boston surgeon, shared an article on her colleagues -- despite everything, it's nice reading about people who always want to save, not destroy, lives.}

At the gardening shop
Our wild daffodils aren't quite in full glory, but Mr. L snapped some garden shop blooms. Enjoy your weekend!

M for Movie Madness
Madness (noun): quality of being insane; great folly. Outdoor movies on a cold night? Madness. But many attended! (Guess the movie?) More at ABC Wednesday (posting early to avoid midnight Linky fumbling:).

P.S. More M movie madness: Fritz Lang's classic M is one of the shortest movie titles ever, and James Bond boss, M, has been played by many film actors (recently, her and him).

New York explorations: L for Late-afternoon Light
"I found myself agape, admiring a skyscraper -- the prow of the Flatiron Building, to be particular, ploughing up through the traffic of Broadway and Fifth Avenue in the late-afternoon light." --H.G. Wells, 1906
These long lean lines have been shot so much and far better (see Carraol), and probably never on such low-resolution (my mistake in camera setting!), but seemed fit for "L." More at ABC Wednesday!
