As a former Boston resident and long-ago runner, yesterday's tragedy cuts to the core. The marathon brought such inspiration to the city each Spring. My thoughts are with those affected. Bless those brave medical workers and many others who rushed to help.

It is hard to put into words to what happened. I feel deeply saddened for those affected by the senseless act. As we have seen many times recently, with any tragic occurrence, there are good people ready to help.

I lived in Boston for many years, six of them right off the route of the marathon. It is an act of unbelievable evil.
