Two towns, one color family

I'm still between London and Princeton time, so here's a bright 'duet' from both places: classic letterbox in London ("VR" = Victoria Regina, it was placed during Queen Victoria's reign), and classic locker from a Princeton high school (Mr. L, resident Brit, exclaimed: "I've never seen American school lockers up close.").

Neither had I, but I do know that VRs aren't that common these days...

Gorgeous colour combination, several thousand miles apart!

Contrast, nice. Better not show the inside of the school locker.

Great colors and great "duet" choices. Love that letterbox detail.

love the letterbox and the color of the school locker is cheery...they look nice side by side! the lockers at my kid's schools are useless. they are long, but only about 6 inches in width...i don't know who designed them, they seem best for storing fishing poles lol

The Victoria Regina is fabulous Lulu..apart from the colour you couldn't get two more different door 'furniture' :)

Oh, Wow, Lulu, this is amazing duet! I love this minimalistic striking style. Everything is fabulous in these two images.

The contrast between classic letterbox and classic locker is very interesting!

Lulu, I was so happy to find out that Czeslaw Milosz is your favorite poet. I love him. I have a book of his poems The Collected Poems in my home library. Thank you that you wrote about this poet to me.

Hugs from Kaya.

I've seen more school lockers than I ever wanted to...but I've never seen a red one!

Great contrast, Lulu!

Does Mr. L know that most American school lockers smell like mildewed towels and soggy sneakers?

(Just talk to a subject for a while and put them at ease before raising your camera.)

Love the VR lettering - and chipped mailbox! The high school locker brings back memories... what does Mr. L think of them, are very different from those across the pond?

Kaya - I love Milosz! The Collected Poems is a real treasure. Catherine - Mr. L thinks they used flip-up desk tops to store things (he can't remember well:)

Pretty cool! Not hard to realize which one is London. :-)
