I'm afraid post-hurricane Princeton is full of exploded trees. I'll try to include some cheerier photos soon, from my travels last week (I luckily missed the storm while travelling).
What a terrible time you have had there. I imagine it will take years to fully recover, especially with the loss of such mature trees. I hope your home is not too badly affected.
It's always a sad sight Lulu, I remember a few years back we had a storm that ripped a huge (my favourite) tree in my back garden out by the roots, the most amazing sight, the strength of the wind must have been awesome, and I rarely say awesome!
These pictures remind me of our Pasadena windstorm a year ago--and we didn't have the rain to go with it. It will take a long time to rebuild. I'm glad you missed the worst of it.

Oh dear, I do so love mature trees. Nature a force to be reckoned with. Nothing to be sorry about missing this.
That's a sight I hate. I remember wandering around after the 1999 Christmas hurricane here and feeling so bad...

You were very lucky indeed! These trees did a lot of damage including some fatalities.

we saw a lot of trees like that after the summer storm we had...it's amazing really isn't it?!

Poor trees! Such a bad time your area has had.
I've only seen damage like that in the aftermath of tornados or microbursts...
