I always liked the slightly swirled bark on this tree, reminds me of marbled cake! With new snowfall like cake frosting. (Winter weather makes me hungrier than usual.)
Really beautiful image, but "only" as tree and snow, I can't see no any cake there. We have so many trees like this, and that was the very first time I hear they look like a cake.. :) Now I'll see them in different eye.

The tree does have that kind of texture to it. Lovely shot!
I'm a tree hugger. Literally. Love photos of trees!
If I knew how to draw, I'd paint this, it's beautiful!
You must be hungry - sorry can't quite see a cake in that tree.

This is a wonderful tree, with or without snow. Amazing !

It's all those extra calories we're burning trying to stay warm.

I've never thought of it that way!
you must be hungry haha...cool lookin tree!
I like the texture of the bark too.
That is a very pretty tree! You 'll have to show it to us again in the summer time without the cake frosting...er...snow.
Beautiful photo, I like this tree with snow almost up to his bowl!
And unlike marbled cake or ice cream, this is calorie free, Lulu. Enjoyed the winding down photos a couple of posts ago as well.
...and there is a slight shadow. What can be better than sunshine and snow (especially the lovely snow you are having).
It's a beauty.
I see the occasional trees with twisted trunks, too, and they make me ponder what they might have experienced in their youths.
Wonderful marbling in the twisted trunk. The snow looks like freshly whipped cream... (but very cold)
